The Phab Club is a national
organisation that works to promote the
integration of people with or without
physical disabilities.
The Pelaw Phab Club is a place where
11 - 25 year olds can come together on
equal terms to have fun and meet new
friends. We meet every Tuesday
6.30pm - 8.30pm.
to take part in a range of activities,
trips and events.
The Phab Club has enjoyed another
eventful and successful year both in
terms of participation and more so in
young people achieving accreditation.
A number of the group are currently
undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh’s
Award as well as a Life Skills Course
which focused on health and hygiene in
the kitchen, budgeting and the
preparation of a 3-course Meal for
other young people and their parents.
The members also planned and
participated in a Cookbook Project
that
included fundraising through the
Keyfund Federation to help cover
costing towards the preparation of
menus and food recipes for their
Cookbook, it proved to be a very
successful and enjoyable piece of work
that will benefit all who took part.
Other activities and projects the
group
have enjoyed or participated in
include
working with staff from the Shipley
Art
Gallery on Aids Awareness through Art
as well as a historical visit to a
Roman Settlement, Clay Pot and
Jewellery Making. The members have
also organised fundraising events by
holding Coffee Mornings, collected
